SYMMES FAMILY TREE
Ancestors of CHARLES THOMAS SYMMES
CHARLES THOMAS SYMMES ( 8th Generation from Zechariah Symmes, entry 618 in "The Symmes Memorial") left Aylmer as a young Civil Engineer to build railways, river dams and harbours in CHILE, where he married Blanca Madariaga at Vicuña while building the 'La Serena - Rivadavia' railroad.
Whilst Charles was building another Chilean railway - from Rucapequén to Penco via Tomé - Blanca gave birth to MARY LILLIAN SYMMES, my mother, in 1914. Presumably this was the only instance of a SYMMES baby being born in a Rail Station house?
By the time I was twenty-two I came to live in England, thus reversing the genetic tangent started by ZECHARIAH SYMMES when he emigrated from the Old to the New World four centuries ago.
