JOHN ADAMS VINTON, biographer.

Mr Vinton was born in Boston on February 5, 1801 and became a Member for Life of the New England Historic and Genealogical Society as well as being a Corresponding Member of the Maine Historical Society, of the Buffalo Historical Society, and of the State Historical Society of Wisconsin and by 1873 he had authored a "Vinton Memorial", a "Giles Memorial", an "Upton Memorial" and "The Symmes Memorial".

THE SYMMES MEMORIAL, a professionally compiled history of the SYMMES family as "one of the worthiest of the founders of New England", was printed for Mr Vinton by David Clapp & Son of Boston in 1873 and was "Entered, according to act of Congress, in the year 1873, BY JOHN ADAMS VINTON, In the Office of the Librarian of Congress, at Washington".

Regretfully, THE SYMMES MEMORIAL appears to be out of print.
